The Society of Operations Engineers (SOE) is pleased to announce we have launched a new website, alongside dedicated new websites for irtec and IRTE Workshop Accreditation, making it easier for engineers, technicians, workshops and industry professionals to access the information, support and resources they need.
The three new websites form part of SOE’s ongoing commitment to improving the digital experience for our members and the wider engineering community, with a focus on making key information easier to find, clearer to navigate and more accessible across desktop and mobile devices.
The new SOE website provides a central hub for everything from membership and professional registration support to events, CPD, technical resources and career development.
Visitors can more easily explore routes to Engineering Council and Society for the Environment professional registration, access CPD resources, find events and training opportunities, discover membership benefits and learn more about SOE’s five professional sectors.
The website also provides clearer pathways for engineers at every stage of their careers, from apprentices and early-career professionals through to experienced engineers looking to achieve professional registration or continue their professional development.
Key improvements include:
- Simpler navigation, making it easier to find information and take the next step
- Clearer access to professional registration, including information on EngTech, IEng and CEng
- Improved access to CPD, supporting members in building, tracking and managing their continuing professional development
- A clearer journey to membership, with information about membership classes, benefits and how to apply
- Exclusive events, news and industry resources
- A mobile-friendly experience, allowing users to access key information wherever they are
The new irtec website provides a dedicated destination for technicians, employers and assessment centres, with clear information about the irtec Licence Scheme, available licences, benefits, assessment routes, FAQs and directories. The scheme provides independent recognition of the competence of technicians working across the commercial vehicle, trailer and passenger transport industries.
The new IRTE Workshop Accreditation website gives workshops and operators a clearer way to understand the accreditation process, its benefits and the standards involved. It also provides access to the IRTE Workshop Accreditation Register.
SOE Chief Executive Emma Thompson said the new and improved websites were a significant improvement for members, prospective members, stakeholders and the wider engineering community.
“Our websites are often the first point of contact people have with SOE, whether they are looking to join, progress their career, achieve professional registration, maintain their CPD or find out more about irtec and Workshop Accreditation,” she said.
“We wanted our digital presence to properly reflect the organisation we are today.
“That means making it easier for people to find what they need, understand how we can support them and take the next step in their professional journey.
“They give us a much stronger platform to continue developing our services and delivering the information, resources and support that engineers need throughout their careers.”
The new websites, developed by Raccoon Web, will provide a digital experience that is more intuitive, accessible and aligned with the needs of our members and engineering community.
