What is CEng?

Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration recognises you as an individual who works to develop solutions to complex engineering problems using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity and embracing new ideas. CEng is the highest level of Engineering Council qualification.

SOE is committed to ensuring members gain access to the qualification that is right for them. You will need to demonstrate, through your application, that you meet the standard required.

The CEng Requirements

  • An accredited Bachelor’s or Honours degree in engineering or technology (level 6) plus further learning, usually a Master’s; or,

  • An accredited MEng degree (level 7); or,

  • A demonstration of an equivalent depth of knowledge through a technical or experiential report

  • In addition, you will need to provide examples of how you’ve met the CEng competencies

Ensure you meet the requirements outlined in the UK-SPEC,  CEnv Competencies, or REnvP practice direction.

Submit application

Submit your application via the form on our website, for the registration you are eligible for.

4.
Professional Registration Interview

Our Registration team will review your application and invite you for a Professional Registration Interview to assess your eligibility.
