Chartered Environmentalists (CEnv) utilise their environmental expertise to transition organisations to sustainable practices, lead departments, make strategic decisions, advise governments and work as highly skilled practitioners. Chartership marks them as leaders in the industry.

The CEnv Requirements
To qualify for CEnv, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge to a Master’s degree level, and have sufficient practical experience to meet the CEnv key competency, normally four or more years.

The Professional Registration Process

Ensure you meet the requirements outlined in the UK-SPEC, CEnv Competencies, or REnvP practice direction.
Submit your application via the form on our website, for the registration you are eligible for.
Our Registration team will review your application and invite you for a Professional Registration Interview to assess your eligibility.

- Which level of Professional Registration should I apply for?
- Can I transfer my registration from another Professional Engineering Institution (PEI)?
Yes, your engineering council status is yours and you can move it to any PEI. Just provide proof of your registration to us at registration@soe.org.uk in the form of a certificate or ID number, and we will guide you on the next steps.
- Is there a limit to how long I can take to complete my registration?
Aim to complete your registration process within a year of first submitting your application.
- I would like to upgrade my Professional Registration, what is my next step?
