SOE Graduate Membership offers a range of benefits and privileges to support your career, strengthen your skills, and connect you with the wider engineering community.
Signal to colleagues, employers, and clients that you take pride in your career, keep your professional knowledge up to date, and meet the standards of a Professional Engineering Institution (PEI).
MSOE membership is a gateway to Professional Registration with Engineering Council or Society for the Environment.
Enjoy access to a range of CPD events and networking opportunities across the UK and online, building meaningful connections to support career growth and knowledge sharing.
SOE members can access exclusive CPD and knowledge support, with around 2000 resources including technical guides, webinars, newsletters, and Transport Engineer and Operations Engineer publications.
The SOE CPD Hub makes it easy to log and track all your CPD activity in one place. For those who are new to the process we provide templates and guidelines on this.
MSOE membership gives you voting rights in annual SOE elections and eligibility to stand for election to our SOE Trustee Board or your relevant Professional Sector Council.
What are the entry requirements?
The entry requirements are similar to the MSOE requirements. You need to have a recognised Level 3 course or apprenticeship, or an HNC, HND or degree qualification. However, members for this level are exempted from the work experience requirements and must have completed their course within the last three years. You must also agree to abide by SOE’s Code of Conduct.

My involvement with SOE has been extremely positive and rewarding. As a member of both the IRTE Professional Sector Council and the Membership and Professional Standards Committee, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the organisation while supporting and guiding fellow engineers.
What fees will I pay?
Graduate membership starts at just 25% of the full membership fee. The fee then increases by 25% each year, gradually building up to the full rate. There is no application fee for this membership class.
If you are employed by one of our Corporate Partners, and they have agreed to pay for your membership, then the process will pick up on this when you tell us who you work for.
