IRTE Northern Centre October CPD presentation focuses on training and development within the automotive industry

The presentation highlighted the services provided by REMIT Training as well as ways to bridge any potential skills gap and up-skill existing technicians. 

Geary led the CPD presentation by briefing the audience on the history of REMIT Training, an Ofsted Grade 1 Training Provider, and the various apprentice training programs which include EV training as well as a variety of accredited and non-accredited courses. REMIT Training also provides tailored courses that suit individual company requirements. Some of these include IRTEC licensing, refrigeration systems, EV training, and other automotive-related topics. 

Geary highlighted the apprentice levy and how REMIT Training has built up a varied customer and partnership portfolio over the years. The REMIT prides itself on its ability to tailor its training programs to meet the specific needs of its clients, either at the REMIT training centre near Derby or at the customer's workshop facility. 

This mixed media presentation was highly interactive, with Geary seeking the audience's input throughout the evening. He put forward various suggestions and plans on how to attract young people to the road transport engineering industry, and retain and up-skill those currently working in it. 

Upon completion of the presentation, IRTE Northern Centre Committee member Chris Grime thanked Geary for attending and giving a highly informative and factual presentation. Overall, the IRTE Northern Centre October CPD presentation was a success, with attendees learning about the latest training and development opportunities available in the automotive industry.
