SOE is asking its members to make suggestions for topics for its new webinar series and symposium this autumn. 

In a continuation of its popular technical lectures and seminars - many of which came with CPD accreditation - SOE will deliver a programme of cutting-edge theory and practice aimed at its growing membership.

Members are encouraged to submit conference papers for the symposium which will cover operations engineering in all its forms. More details of the symposium and webinars will be released in the coming weeks. 

On April 9, the first irtec breakfast meeting will take place in Northern Ireland at Transport Training Services. Following the success of similar events held in England and Scotland, the session will welcome HGV operators and dealers in the region, together with fleet and transport engineers, transport associations, public sector representatives, and further education and training organisations to discuss how accreditation scheme irtec is raising standards in the industry.

A Scottish CPD event aimed towards the BES and IPlantE sectors will take place shortly after on April 11 at the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel. Andy Kidd, Chief Engineer at British Engineering Services, will present on the role of the competent person in the workplace, examining the requirements of a modern inspection and maintenance engineer. 

David Cooper of LECS (UK) Ltd completes the line-up, and will deliver a detailed presentation on how to prevent incidents on escalators and moving walk-ways, from the perspective of the engineer surveyor.
