We are excited to announce our inaugural Women in Engineering event. Taking place in the Barton Grange Hotel in Preston on Monday 23rd September. Starting at 19:00 this event will be a panel discussion looking at improving diversity for Women in Engineering.

The session will be an open forum, and include contributions from:

  • Michael Sweetmore, Merseyside Police, SOE President and Head of Fleet Engineering and Transport Services;
  • Chris Grime, Veolia, Head of Fleet, North;
  • Amanda Foster, Dragonfly directors, SOE Trustee Board Lead for Women in Engineering.

At SOE we are committed to greater diversity in engineering and increasing our female membership to better reflect the profession. We want to support women and encourage them to be ambassadors in the industry.

Hosted by the IRTE Northern Centre, come and network with up to 40 likeminded professionals on the issues facing women in the workplace. The UK has one of the lowest rates of women engineers in Europe, and with a predicted global shortfall in engineers worldwide, it has never been more pressing to encourage Women in their chosen profession.
